I didn't want to suggest any push pin type coolers, as many 478 boards are slightly thicker than most 775 boards. This can render those plastic push pins useless. But some boards will work fine with most 775 coolers. I have (tucked in a closet right now), an old asus p4s800d x running a P4 @ 3.2GHz with an XSPC socket 775 waterblock. Perfect fit and fantastic cooling. But it uses tension screws to mount and I was never able to make push pins work on that thicker board. Did get them to work on a couple of Abit boards though. YMMV.

There sure is a way to mount 775 coolers on socket 478, and some coolers work without brackets too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPGPRYylj5o

You know that this video shows absolutely nothing and in fact in the comments the maker admits that it doesn't function well?
