Made My Own Sound & Video Card Boxes

One of the things that I've been meaning to do is find a way to store my loose long sound and video cards, basically anything longer than 8.25". For anything shorter, I use clear video game box protectors (Atari 2600 and Intellivision gatefold size). But I'm starting to accumulate a lot of longer cards. Yesterday, I found these cheapo gift boxes at Dollar Tree. They come three for a dollar. While a little wide, their length and depth are just about perfect for my long cards.

So, I printed off some mailing labels with logos and descriptions and affixed them to the boxes. The cards go in an anti-static bag and then into the box. There's room for 3.5" disks too. I have to say I'm liking this system so far. (By the way, it is really hard to find an old school STB Systems logo on the Internet.)

I really like that. Very cool. The whiteness gives them a sort of OEM look. Nicely done, man. 😀

😁

Nice!

I would prefer to have front and back printed and pasted too, but these are still nice too.

Thanks, clueless1 and Malik. You're right about the OEM look, clueless1. My little home office is starting to have the look of a 1990s Mom 'n' Pop computer shop.

Not a bad idea to get front and back panels, Malik. They sell full-page stickers, too.

I bought three sizes of boxes. This next size is for *really* long sound and video cards. Also a good size for small motherboards too.

I wish I could. But they don't take long if you can source the boxes. I can upload the MS Word template for the Avery labels. And they're cheap, about $0.50 each after the box, labels, and anti-static bag.

You sure have many sound blasters 😉

Those are about half of the long ones. (I use two labels per box.) Everything up to the AWE64 Gold's size fits in the clear box protectors. And then there are the CIB and NIB examples. 😀

I've been selling off some of my duplicates lately. I had dupes of the same model *and* board revision.

You should also print the earlier "Sound Blaster" logo using the 80's action movie font for the older Creative cards...or maybe the retro Creative logo would be good too.

I like it. Good job. I think this looks more professional than retail boxes, especially those geforce/radeon ones from around 2004/08. They simply looks like something made by a teenage boy. These looks like real boxes. Simple, and nothing more than what is inside the box.

This looks solid.
For my purposes it would be not so suitable as it looks like it takes quite some extra space per single card. My whole apartment would be probably filled with boxes 😉.

Cool, I don't have a good printer for printing off labels witch is why I asked. But maybe now I can have a good reason to buy a newer and or better printer.

Here are the MS Word files I used with the Avery labels (5160). Vogons wouldn't let me upload a DOCX file, so I converted to DOC. There's a good variety of logos in this set, and it's easy to add more.
