Yeah they exist, but they're not major titles. It wouldn't make any commercial sense for big game developers to solely target Macs over PC.

1 game I do find addictive is 1 of the free bundled games with several Mac systems - Marble Blast Gold. I used to play that for hours.

I got a second G5 1,8Ghz CPU, but the PowerMac will not detect it.

I bootet up from Diag Disc 2.5.7, and it does show up both temp. sensors, for each cpu.
But only one 1.8Ghz CPU 😒

any advice how to get the Second CPU up and running ?

There aren't too many exclusives for that system. System 7~9 sure, but OS/X and the G3-G5 architectures wiped out a LOT of the compatibility barriers and hurdles to porting games. Most would've been written in C(++/#) & OpenGL by then, and even if they were developed on the Mac, it was almost a no-brainer to port them to everything else for a bigger market share.

Drop Point Alaska was apparently an exclusive to OS/X (Intel!) that never got a port. I don't know of any others offhand. 😜

That said, there are a ton of great games for it even if they're not exclusives, and anything that came out for the G3 & G4 flies on the G5, so don't fret too much and enjoy it. I've played a lot of Wipeout 2097, UT2004, and SimCity 4 Deluxe on mine.

Have you swapped the two CPUs and seen if the new one works?

and systeminfo now states i have defective ram installed 😒

There are 3 types of G5 1.8GHz CPUs out there: 970, 970FX with 900MHz FSB, and 970FX with 600MHz FSB. Is it possible that the 2nd CPU is not the right one (970FX with 900MHz FSB)?

Now it works, i got 3 CPU's and could choose the right one.
Still thinking about these unpopulated ram slots... maybe i should try to solder them.. 4 more ram slots.

I'm now running Dual CPU !

PowerMac G5 runs RTCW or Postal 2 in HD without issues.
Now i need a way to run my doom3 pc version (with macpatch) without cdrom 😒

converting mac patches to full games does work with pc version data (almost)
