I have the transparent Palm III PDA in my collection. I'm away from home at the moment but it looks like this.
Is this too much voodoo?

I generally consider beige to be 'warm' tinted (like most older yellowing plastics, etc.); I have some 'cool' tinted grey stuff as well.
YMMV

Cool! I had got a Handspring Visor once that looked quite similar. 😁

Jeez. That wouldn't look out of place controlling the sentry guns in Aliens. 🤣
I don't think this style is/was ever prevalent as a trend, but if you held a gun to my head, I'd take it over the "everything is a jellybean" design language. 🤣
Early 2000s tat-off: let's see your colored translucent plastic things

I don't even have any RGB stuff on my new gear. 😊
Same here. I prefer the 80's to 90's designs with light grey/beige colors or the black 2005's design.
I am not a fan of the aluminium finish Apple has been doing either for their macbooks, particularly the silver metallic one. Mostly because when I am in a cold room, the aluminium is so cold that it freezes my hands when I am typing on it.
That made me think about applying a skin to my macbook pro. I loved this one - although I wouldn't go for the rainbow logo on it, just a dark grey logo, because it is too much colorful for my taste.

EDIT: But actually when I was a 90's kid I had a phone in my room that was transparent:
Eventually I ditched it after a few months. I couldn't stand its design. Was a gift from one of my parents...

Nope. Apple eMate 300 was available earlier.

Are they original? I have never seen a translucent Dreamcast nor controller.
Dreamcast shell is aftermarket but controllers are all original, they were sold in a variety of colors.

Never seen the translucent Dreamcast controllers in my country, but the Dreamcast is a rarity over here anyway.
Pretty much all of them came from USA. There were some released in EU with transparent bottom side but unfortunately they're incredibly uncommon, or were when I was trying to get them. Nowdays I don't really care enough to get more 🤣.

I oddly like that. The un-integrated internals of a phone are more tangible than other examples in this thread, which remain magical black boxes in spite of the chips being visible. I look at that and think, if I had those components I could build my own phone.
Or maybe I'm just imagining Melissa Joan Hart picking that up on Nickelodeon in 1993.
