Just purchased BCM BC845DL industrial board for P4. This one has AGP 4x, 5x PCI and 2x ISA slots. While I'm waiting for it, I was curious if any of you have an experience with it (or its chipsets) and have anything useful to share. My goal was to try to find a P4 board that has AGP for modern GPU and ISA for sound card. This one has both.
Here's a link to specs sheet: http://www.bcmcom.com/tech/BC845DL/BC845DL-2.htm
And here's a link to manual:http://www.bcmcom.com/bcm_search_results.asp? … vel2=&asd=%5E54
It comes with Win9x/ME/2K/XP drivers.
The specs sheet says: "Pentium 4 up to 2.6 GHz or above (with system bus frequency of 400 MHz)"
Not sure what the max cpu for this is - any ideas? The manual doesn't specify it either. I'm guessing any P4 with 400MHz FSB?
Right now I have at home an unused Northwood P4 2.8GHz which needs 533FSB. Can I mess anything up if I put 533 FSB CPU into board that only supports 400FSB or will the cpu simply be underclocked?
