I'm building a system based on Sergey Kiselev's micro 8088 board. Currently I'm using whatever parts I have lying around for testing, but I intend on getting a nice case & power supply for this system.

I was wondering what kind of power draw I'll have and whether or not 80 watts would be enough, since I'm leaning towards using an 80 watt PicoPSU (https://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-80) to ease cable management.

The system will have the following cards/peripherals:

  • Sergey's 8-bit ISA backplane
  • Micro 8088 board with Fujitsu 8088-1
  • XT-CF-Lite
  • Sergey's 8-bit floppy/serial card
  • Sergey's 8-bit Trident SVGA card
  • Allied Telesys AT2000 ethernet card (if it works on an XT, otherwise I'll go without ethernet)
  • Aztech Sound Galaxy BXII sound card
  • Serial mouse
  • 360k floppy drive

80 watt PSU should be enough unless you decide to hook up a real HD as they draw 12-20 watts alone.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun
