Well I've tried ... My board has a C&T PEAK/DM rev B1 ... and cache doesn't work either using MR-BIOS 🙁

I tried SiS Rabbit, C&T Peak/DM and Topcat MR-BIOS. None of them can enable the cache on the boards. It's kind of disappointing because these are all high performance chipsets that could have really benefited from MR-BIOS tweaks. Only the Topcat chipset can be excused, because this chipset doesn't natively support cache...that comes from a 3rd party controller.

I noticed a 386SX motherboard on an auction site and asked the seller for a BIOS dump. He helped out 😀

I am not sure this one was already found before, the board has the Acer/ALi M1217 chip. BIOS ID is V1.41-ACER310.

I just tried the generic 286 MR BIOS on my 286-15. The system was 100% working on the AMI BIOS but with MR BIOS it hangs when trying to load Win 3.1. Anyone seen this before? It works just fine in DOS

This is another one than the one you spotted not far from me. That seller wasn't so helpful unfortunately. I could have that image also, if I bought the PC with it 😜

Which SiS Rabbit board do you have? Because I planned to buy an EPROM writer and test in on my ASUS, but if it doesn't work I will skip this.

My SiS Rabbit board is a fairly old one. Looks to be 1990 vintage. It was made by a company called CTI Electronics in Connecticut. Surprisingly the company is still around, but doesn't make PCs anymore. I might try contacting them since my board is not listed on TH99, but I am skeptical they have anything I need. In any case, it uses a Revision A Rabbit chipset, and has a clunky 1990 core AMI BIOS. The layout is quite similar to the Asus board you have. It appears to only support 1MB SIMMs and up to 128kb cache, but since I don't have a manual I can't say for certain. Strangely it won't accept DLC type CPUs at all.

Maybe someone can contact whoever is responsible for mobokive to see what happened to the Jaguar IV and V files. One is the MX chipset, and the other is for HT.

Speaking. What exactly are you looking for?

OK, guys, I am super excited to share this link with you.. Because I have either hit the MR BIOS Rom motherload.. Or I just found out something you all already knew and I'm getting all excited about nothing, but: http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/power_utils/cdroms.txt

And the CD contents are here: http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/power_utils/

There are literally dozens of MR BIOS roms here..

And I seem to have some more offline as well... Another indexing/deduplicating project... Sigh...

When you click on the link for the Jaguar IV MR BIOS, you get:

Thanks for the suggestion but I long since rolled back to the AMI BIOS. Curiously I did find that Windows would start if executing and quitting MSD or SCANDISK prior to trying to open it.

System BIOS for Gigabyte "GA-586ATE" motherboard (Intel Triton)

MR BIOS (r) V097B50Q Version 3.31

NOTE: This version 3.31 of the V097B50Q BIOS for the Gigabyte motherboard
replaces the previous version 3.30 dated 2/29/96 which contained support for
the wrong super I/O chip. This version 3.31 dated 5/7/96 supports the Gigabyte
motherboard containing a super I/O chip labeled SMC 1665IR but is actually
an ALI M5119 super I/O.

Is there a MR-BIOS for the SiS 85C460 (single chip) that is on a 386/486 motherboard? I looked at the spreadsheet on Page 6 that has this information:

Filename ------> BIOS string --------> Description
V072B400 -----> SIS_400 --------> 460,461V 386,486,Cx

That *seems* to be the one you need, but sadly we haven't found it yet.
It's a real shame that there were missing files from the latest dump, because many of the missing ROM images are for fairly common chipsets. Though, we should be extremely grateful for what we have (seems to be about 75% complete).

Was wondering if you have those ICL files mentioned on cd2. Thanks!
