Today I found this untested mainboard, great looking, old battery becoming to leak acid but still on a single metal point and I'll desolder it today. The board model says UB433-DAVE Rev 1.1 the chipset is an ALi 1429 and built around 1994, 256Kbyte L2 20ns cache, 30 pin ram sockets, "AMIBIOS 486DX ISA BIOS 1993" and there's a metal marking name it E119697 on the back of the mobo PCB ..still have to test it, probably will not even work but have someone some equivalent manual/layout known for this?
I've alread searched online, few info with the same questions and still no schematics or jumpers manual found.

EDIT: I found that the Ami identifier number of the bios (read online should be this "40-0212-001235...") tells it should be built by the Formosa Industrial Computing, isn't it simply the FIC company? Still no more info about it and many jumpers on the mainboard.

The gt 240 at least is better than my old 64bit gt610.
I planning use it on my am3 sempron / or celeron 420 for a xp rig just for late and demanding win 98 and early XP games.

Its rated at 25mhz and I am going to pair it with an AMD 386sx-33mhz.

Should be okay right ?

I'm pretty sure that's the full specs. Next time we're at my in-laws I'll double check the hardware.

As suspected the board doesn't boot but cpu, cache, vga warm up.. I've no ISA debug cards but until I find some jumper table for this is difficult to say. No traces are damaged, already desoldered the battery and under it everything is more than ok.
I was looking at the TMC PAT48AV-1.40 a similar board, different layout but clearly the same general configuration but jumpers are different even if it's the most aproximately similar mb I've found online.. I changed both cpu, vgas, ram but I just left the cache for now..

not one... but two Commodore machines and my very first Amiga :3c

a Commodore PC10-III together with a beautiful green phosphor MDA screen, the screen has a surprisingly long afterglow
my phone camera doesn't do the green justice, it's a prettier shade IRL, less yellow-ish

to top it off an original Commodore branded Cherry MX Keyboard with one of the weirdest layouts I have seen ^^

and the single most expensive retro-purchase I have made so far, after many unsuccessful attempts of getting an Amiga 500 I just went ahead and got an Amiga 2000 instead :3
also recently bought a Microvitec Autoscan monitor that supports 15Khz perfect for the Amiga :3

not only that though, also stumbled upon this Amiga Cherry MX Keyboard as well at the same time, the case is strikingly similar to the PC keyboard above ^^, and since the 2000 came without any accessories I bit the bullet and just bought it (it wasn't cheap)

why was this A2000 so expensive though?

because it has a GVP G-Force 030 accelerator / SCSI controller combo card inside :3
with 68EC030 and 68882 @40Mhz

and a "MacroSystem DeInterlaceCard" line doubler / flicker fixer with VGA output as well, wouldn't have needed that 15Khz monitor in hindsight, but it's still nice in case I ever decide to win the lottery and get more Amigas ^^

Great haul! Is the monitor a 76bm13? I've been looking for one of these for a while now. Somehow they don't have a DB-9 connector at the back, do they?

thank you, yes, 76BM13/00E it has a DIN connector on the back, but luckily the DB9 to DIN cable was included
unfortunately there are markings and paint scratched into the top of the case, going to have to clean that up somehow, probably going to have to sand that off.

there was another keyboard included with the same markings ruining the case, but the pretty Cherry MX keyboard luckily only had ink markings that did get a bit into the plastic though and needed some persuasion to come off... so there's a bit brighter spot on the top left now but no damage to the texture really and it's barely noticable.

I use PS2 adapter and optical mouse. To be period correct, I still keep my original Escom A1200 mouse in drawer 🙂

For all the marketing bovine excrements Intel put out with their P4's, I still like the era, and S478 does have a sweet spot in my collection.

Here's a picture of the system I had in 2005:

I still have the Zalman Reserator 1, fully functional. The Abit IC7-Max3, together with the huge case, was sold not long after I moved house beginning of 2006.

It took me a while, but today I finally found an IC7-Max3 again (whee!), with a Northwood 3.2 and a whopping 4*1 GB of RAM.

Time to rebuild that 2005 pc!

Ooh that sounds like a fun p4 build.

It really is a nice system and I can not wait to bring it home and use it again. It's one of my all time favorite computers I've built.
