Hello everyone;

I have made this little shooter for MS-DOS. It supports VGA, Adlib and Sound Blaster. Requires a 386.
Hope you like it 😀
Download it here: https://madaxe-pns.github.io/sardonic/

Best Regards,

Nice! Thank you for sharing with us. The game works fine and is fun to play.
But I found the controls not very convenient. Is there a way to chage it to arrow keys?

Sure, it's possible to change the control keys to the arrows keys. I'll make the modification soon.
In fact, Q A O P Space is more like the good old ZX Spectrum in the 80s, 🤣!
Glad you like my little game 😀

This is freaking cool, thanks a lot for sharing.
What was used to compose the music (on the DOS front)? Was it hard to get it to play back by code?

Hi! Nice you like my game 😀
The music is a protracker .MOD file composed by Fred. I am making a converter that converts .MOD files to Adlib and AY-3-8912 and this music was the first music that I converted. When the converter is finished I'll share and release the sources 😀
It was a bit dificult because Adlib is a bit tricky to get started but you can take a look at the game sources to see how the music is played.

Thanks for your feedback, Nylan 😀
I'm coding a path to change the control keys to the arrow keys.

Sweet, always love a good classic-style shmup! That said, thanks for not having one-hit-deaths.

This game might make an appearance on my stream tonight. 😀 (7 PM Pacific Daylight Time, link in sig.)

Hi guys! Thanks again for your nice feedback 😀
In the attached file you find the new version with the arrow keys as the control keys.
Just replace the the old Sardonic.exe file with the new Sardonic.exe.
Hope you can enjoy the game now 😀

Thanks, that would be very nice 😀
Hint: in command line type sardonic.exe belenensesrules and you will start the game with a pack of 9 lives 😁

Savage, imaging being for example a hardcore Porto fan wanting the extra lives. Tough words to admit 😄
