Needless to say there's quite a bit missing. Can't read the bios date among many other things.

Thank you for the report and the BIOS date is missing as SIV does not have a VXD for Windows 9x, were you to boot Windows NT then the BIOS date should be reported. In general Windows 95 does not have many of the SetupAPI routines SIV needs and with NT4 or W98 SIV would do better. The other issue is that the system has IBM MicroChannel (MCA) rather than PCI and SIV has no MCA support at all. Looking at the CPUZ report you posted neither does CPUZ.

From checking https://www.geoffchappell.com/studies/windows … story/index.htm I suspect NT4 is the last version of Windows to support MCA, is it?

I'll be testing a DFI LanParty UT X58-T3eH8 once I get it. It's going to replace my 790i FTW.

OK, SIV does not have any explicit DFI LanParty UT X58-T3eH8 support so expect I will need to make adjustments for the ITE IT8718F SIO, it's also possible the system may have a PWM power controller, but won't know 'till I check the save file.

All the x58/Bloomfield/Gulftown support should be fine as I have an ASUS P6X58D Premium system.

I believe it is the last yes. IBM PS/2s have two BIOSes, one Advanced BIOS (for OS/2)and one Legacy for MS-DOS, 9x, etc. SIV would read the Legacy one I assume? Interesting stuff.

Early 90s: IBM PS/2 Server 95/A, Pentium 66, 16MB RAM, XGA-2, IBM SCSI Corvette, SCSI2SD, 3 Com EtherLink III MCA, Resound 2 AdLib MCA
Late 90s: Micron Millenia MXE, ABIT VH6-II, Coppermine 1ghz, 1024MB, Voodoo 5 5500 PCI, GUS Max 2.1, 128GB SATA PNY SSD

Were you to boot Windows NT 4 then SIV should read 128KB starting from physical address 0xE0000 and then search this for all the BIOS tables which on NT/XP systems are reported via Menu->Hardware->BIOS Tables->BIOS Tables. Ideally there would be "_DMI_" information, but I suspect the BIOS may be too old to have this, epically so given CPUZ did not report the motherboard name. On systems running NT then the save will generate both .TXT + a 128KB .DMI file and if I had the .DMI file I suspect I would be able to get SIV to report more about the system. Have you ever had Windows NT running on the system?

HWiNFO DOS version has MCA support. I'd be happy to get a report from that system.

Thank you for the save files and remembering the BIOS screen shot which made things easy. How does the attached SIV64X 5.52 DFILP-09 test SIV look to you please?

AFAIK it's either this or the P55 one, though AFAIK this can run a 980x or 990x but I'll confirm that once my 980x gets here so it may not be the last one but it could make it the most powerful one.

Thank you, looking at Menu->Hardware->BIOS Tables->BIOS Tables the DFI BIOS only contains the Intel (Gulftown) [B0] microcode, but my 980X is stepping [B1] so I guess it may depend on which stepping you get.

On my 980X system the Revision 001F µCode Dated 2018-05-08 get's used, as I recall I found a modified BIOS which contained the updated CPU µCode a couple of years ago and wonder if there is one for the DFI.

After a Google I found https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/me … s.246101/page-8

I suspect it is, but wonder which CPU µCode is being used. My guess is that the system will post with the 980X (when do you expect it?), but will not be using the latest CPU µCode unless you run Windows 10.

USPS says Monday but it looks like either tomorrow or saturday.

I'll check with SIV if it works.

Comparing with my system which is as below yours does not have the latest Intel (Gulftown) [B1] + Intel (Bloomfield) [D0] CPU µCode .

Well it works, I did a bios update to that Spectre/Meltdown one, SIV64 reports it's using the b1 microcode, I'll upload the stuff later.

Also the ram automatically runs at 1600 mhz now.

Also SIV thinks it's running at 2.93 like the W3540 but CPU Z and AIDA64 show 3.33ghz.
