ok i played the game fine for a while but then i saved my game and went to sleep came back later and tried to start the game up again but everytime i run fall.exe z.cfg i get illegal call 7..........can anyone help me?
what i do is
mount c c:\dagger
fall.exe z.cfg
i acts like its gonna work but then it just says illegal call 7 and closes dosbox...could this be a problem with my save game? if so how do i run fixsave without the cd....oh and another thing what should someone with a 1.7ghz proccessor and 1 gig or ram set their cpu cycles and frameskip at to play Daggerfall? any help will be great!
What dosbox version? What OS?
Tried different cores?
0.65
xp
whats a core....im kinda a noob
In the start menu for dosbox you should find a DOSox.conf
There are several items that you can modify, search for the
core=normal one and change it to core=dynamic or core=full
and test the game again.
the readme file?
i changed it to full and it doesnt close by itself but it just stays at a black screen and the status window says
read from port 8ee8, len 1
read from port 8ee8, len 1
read from port b6e8, len 1
read from port b6e8, len 1
First, put all mount commands (cdrom if available, and the emulated
harddisk) into the autoexec-section of dosbox. Should look like
[autoexec]
mount c c:\games
mount d f:\ -t cdrom
when c:\games is a directory on your harddisk that contains the dos games,
and will be the place you install new games to.
Then reinstall daggerfall, and try again.
wait how do you do autoexec
im afraid to save my game and have to reinstall it all over again...do you think it will be ok to save, get off and come back later.............i got it working by the way...🤣
You can reinstall it into a different directory, when the game is fully
working you might be able to transfer the savegames.
where is the autoexec part of dosbox located?
in dosbox.conf somewhere at the bottom
