Voodoo3 2000 (1999)
Lows:
-some issues with LCD monitors according to https://gona.mactar.hu/DOS_TESTS/
Do we know that this means?
Thanks.
I tested the Voodoo 3 and stumbled over various issues. It's by far less "out of the box compatible" than it might seem.
But in terms of LCD color issues, I did not have that with keen, but with "newer" 640x400 games.
The list also mentions "Flight Simulator 5.x (SVGA 640x400 HQ) - Flashing colors".
I did not test this in particular, but I had Lands of Lore 2 with 640x400 Software renedering, where the portrait was flickering.
On Toonstruck, which is also 640x400 the colors were broken, especially if you go into the main menu. This does NOT show on a CRT, but it does show on a VGA LCD Monitor as well as on a capture.
However I found a workaround for that. I redefined the mode, increased it from 70 to 75Hz which solved the issue.
If you check my "Time Travel" Video from the linked timestamp onward, it's basically all Voodoo 3 issues (excluding the end), and my solutions for them:

The only things I have not been able to fix is:
Early Voodoo 1 games are too dark. (The workaround provided in Phils Video doesnt work)
Die Fugger 2 (German Only Game) which uses 15 Bit Color Depth is impossible to run on Voodoo3. It will always just go back to 256 Colors.
Edit: Another thing to mention: On my card all 320x200 Games initially had Snow, and it needed a BIOS flash to work. (got one of these V3 3500 Compaq Cards)
