I had to replace a dead S7 mainboard and got as replacement the GA-586ATX rev 3.0 (printed on the board). It is still on 1.0A bios.
This should be the board:

There are plenty of bioses as .bin files listed, but no pack contains patcher or instructions. I downloaded the latest 4.0 version.
Going back to revision 2.0, I found a download with a .bin and a small 28kB file named AF771.exe in it.
Is the AF771.exe a patcher? Can I expect user interaction?
I'd boot from floppy, run AF771.exe, see if I can first save the old bios and then flash the new latest rev3 bios (4.0). Or should I do it differently?
And while on bioses, is there a bios which sets/limits a UDMA2 flag for this board? (to get dma check in win98se)
Thanks for help.
