As probably some i talked to in previous post know i got myself into Pentium III machine, done some huge upgrades recently.
Currently i use my old trustworthy Soundblaster Live! which is the card from my first computer i bought ever as kid, and its still working perfectly fine. 😀
With drivers provided all games i turned on works perfectly so far.
I`m considering upgrading to Audigy ZS 2 since i`m into music beside video games to enjoy with bit better sound clarity then what regular Soundblaster SB Live! provides.
I wanted to ask is support for this card good from DOS/98/XP? I`m on dual boot machine 98SE/XP and would like to have good support for older games as well.
My question is, will i benefit from getting additionaly AWE64 and put it in ISA slot for older games DOS games ? I`m not familiar with older systems, soundcards and how good older games have compabillity. For DOS older games i`m not into sound quallity of course since it was low fi era in terms of fidelity, rather that support is good, possibly emulate nice FM sounds etc.
Oh, one more thing. Will i having problem using modern PSU and AWE 64 since i do not have -5v or it will work fine?
Kind regards,
Dado.
