I have an asus p2b rev 1.12. I see in the manual that there is an asus p2t cable to measure the cpu temperature, unfortunately I can't find it anywhere (Does anyone know where you can buy the cable?). My modern asus motherboard has a temperature sensor cable, see picture

The attachment kabel.jpg is no longer available

This is the product number ASUS 14011-00020100
Can I also put this cable on the 2 pin connection on the motherboard and measure the cpu temperature?
If I can use this, what is the best way to stick it to the cpu and where on the cpu can I do that best?

I used this cable on my P2B and TUSL2-C, attached with this tape, but not to measure CPU temperature. There is some delta between the actual CPU temperature and what the sensor would pick up from the cooler.

Tualatin Pentium III-S 1.4, ASUS TUSL2-C, 512MB RAM, GeForce 4 Ti 4200, Voodoo2 SLI, SB Live!, 3Com 3C905C, 80GB IDE HDD, Dell 2001FP
P233MMX, Intel LT430TX, 64MB RAM, Sierra Screamin' 3D, AWE64 Gold, 3Com 3C905B, 40GB IDE HDD, Viewsonic A75f

On page 22 of the ASUS motherboardmanual there is a 'description' on how to attach the cable to the Slot 1 cartridge. Don't expect too much of it, this way of measuring is not very accurate as already noted above. In case you use a slotket you can slip the sensor underneath the cpu.
