Hi there! It depends.. Palm OS is 68000 based. It has GB emulators, for example.
For emulating DOS, an ARM PDA/HPC is better than MIPS R4000 or SH3.
Some things I do remember:

PS:
Even DOSbox emulates Dos 5.0 by default.
It's also the standard in Windows NT and OS/2, I think.
The 5.0 is for compatibility reasons, to distinguish from DOS 4 (a dead end in DOS development).
Another recommended compatibility setting is 3.20 or 3.30 or 3.31, I guess.
That's because DOS 5 kernal was based on DOS 3.3 kernal again (about same data structures in memory).
Older releases of DR DOS before DR DOS 6 did identity themselves as 3.31, I think.
Which means that DR DOS 5 did itself as 3.31 and was more compatible than the MS-DOS 5 that followed.
Fun fact: DR DOS 5 was first. It introduced support for UMB and HMA.
MS-DOS 5 was Microsoft's answer to it. So next time, give a copy of DR DOS a little hug. 🤗
PS/2: The continuing use of DOS 5 in Windows NT meant that DOS in Windows 9x had become more advanced, ironically.
It had features and utilities that weren't available in NTVDM.
PS/1:
Id really like to browse a list or youtube channel, that has very tiny and very old DOS 6.22 PDA / Palmtop / pocket PCs with monochrome screen.
I don’t know much about it, but a few come to mind.
