I see a CS4248 and a YMF262, it's definitely a Windows Sound System card. The OEM isn't seen on this one though, I remember a Diamond CD-ROM kit having a card just like this

This looks like a pretty nice card. I like the RCA jacks. Is the unmarked chip likely an one of those opti 929 things? According to the FCCID, it is "SC 6000", though it doesn't look like any of the ones I have seen.

I've never seen this one either. It has an own MCU too.

The 82C929 'translates' the SB interface to WSS. This card is similar.

It is almost identical to my Terratec Maestro 32 (2nd edition): ASC-9308 + DSP-9309A + CS4248 + OPL3. This terratec card uses the same PCB as the Gallant SC-6000. Sometimes the CS4248 codec chip is the replaced with a pin compatible AD1845.

Your card seems to have a different PCB, without volume wheel and gameport. But the chips are exactly the same. It has no Wavetable by itself. The ASC-9308 controller chip is by C-Media, it gives SB-Pro and MPU-401 compatibility. Though the SB-Pro compatibility was not flawless last time I checked. There was a SB-Pro DSP version changer and a SB16 utility for this card. The SB16 utility did not work for me at all.

Is that "DSP" really a DSP? It looks more like a controller for the CD-ROM interfaces.

It says DSP-9309A on the chip. My first guess was that the chip may be doing MPU-401 interfacing.

Digging out this old thread to clarify that the Gallant SC6000 card is similar to the Terratec Maestro 16 sound card and not to the Maestro 32 (OPTi 929 based). Compatibility of the Maestro 16 is better than Maestro 32.
