Stopped working recently.
Replaced capacitors with fresh ones - still silence.
Tried it in 2-3 different motherboards - silence.

Any ideas ?

Providing front/back photos in case somebody spots something i missed.

Time to upgrade it to pin compatible Savage 3D/2X!

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

There's something on the bottom memory chip, if it's metal it may be bridging two legs:

Other than that: does the S3 chip feel too hot? And can you try to dump the BIOS using a programmer to verify it's not corrupted?

Bad Video BIOS EEPROM?
Try booting with a PCI graphics card and see wether the AGP S3 is detected by OS.

You gave me a glimpse of hope.
Removed the spec but still no lights.

Doornkaat
Burned new BIOS on trusted EPROM.
Will try your second suggestion.

That or either move on entirely.

What was the spec between the legs anyway?
You could also try cleaning the contacts with some rubbing alcohol. Worth a shot and I've revived quite a bit of seemingly dead hardware this way.

Whats missing in your collections?

I think it was piece of thermal paste. Hard to say really.

Negative on agp recognition. Card is gone.

Try cleaning the contacts with an eraser.

Is it just dirt or a scratch?

Agree, that sounds like a dead chip.
Sorry.😐

@Doornkaat
Yeah.

@Ydee
This was me - slipping the soldering iron end while vacuuming the joint point for recaping.
Lighting makes it look much stronger than it is - it is a gentle scratch on the surface of the silk screen.
Good eye tho 😀
