So, the SupraSonic, despite being the coolest modem ever made, has the ridiculous quirk of not supporting DTE rates of 300-baud. This, as everyone knows, means that head-to-head Battle Chess is out of the question.

Obviously, a sidekick is needed... some sort of corresponding Robin to the SupraSonic's Batman, as it were...

I see the Xircom parallel port adapter, is the wifi somehow hooked up to that?

A 3-foot ethernet cable connects the Xircom adapter to the ASUS WL-330N, which acts as a wireless bridge to the household wireless router. Using Mike Brutman's mTCP package, FTP transfers (and hosting), HTTP downloads, Telnet, and IRC connectivity are possible. The Arachne web browser also works on this system, albeit so slowly as to render it pretty-much unusable.

The CD-RW has to be SCSI then, right?

Correct. The single ISA slot in this system is populated with a Trantor T-130B SCSI adapter, with the CD-RW and PCD-47B both sitting on the SCSI bus.
