When I am changing an existing file, and put the old file on my C drive. My computer was just replaced and DOSBOX does not recognize the C Dr. except right after I mount the drive. When using my outliner, Maxthink, the program does not recognize the C Dr.

I can close the program, which leaves me with the command prompt, which does recognize the C drive.

I have not had a problem like this in my older backup computers.

Thank you
Michael

The conclusion is pretty simple. The program normally has the capacity to show the contents of different directories.
Maxthink is a DOS program and the command to show a directory is DOS command. If I shut down the program, I can use the D)S dir command, but I cannot save a file to D:\

It depends on your mount command AND on your host OS -> maybe the folder you mounted as C (or D?) does not have the correct rights to save to.

Probably a permissions issue. Try mounting a non-system as your emulated "C:" instead of the root of your system drive.

Yes, it's an important security measure of Newer Windows than XP to make the root of C read only. And an important security measure of Dosbox not to mount the root of C.
