I just installed dosbox .65 and am using it to run the floppy version of Flashback -
Naturally, - I've run into something i don't understand. When I run the game by starting dosbox, mounting the drive, and typing FB - The games' performance is awful - though modifying the .conf file helps and has an effect.
Ok - but if I open two explorer windows and do the drag and drop - the FB.exe onto the DosBox.exe, the game's performance is incredibly fast and smooth, in both window and fullscreen.
So while i'm not exactly having a problem -- I'd like to know why this is happening for future reference -- I know the drag n drop start method seems to bypass the .conf -- and i'd like to experiment with the scaling settings so i can try and eliminate an ugly teal border around my flashback fullscreen game window --
so...what gives?
Why is performance so much better through drag and drop?
