I too love to play Gunship 2000 and have run into this bug. It is a little annoying in that I usually like to review the briefing so I can know what to expect and load out my choppers accordingly. As it is, I have to load them out with a standard vanilla mix of weapons--not a huge deal, but would be nice. Also would be nice to know how far it is to the objective before loading out.

I have Dosbox 0.70 with a standard config file.

Thank you,
Jamon

I know this is almost thread necromancy, but it seems to me, i found a solution for the "scrolling briefing" bug.
I simply changed the sound to ATI FX.
This works fine with me using D-Fend 0.50 and the DosBox-Version shipped with it (0.72). Only thing that does not work is the digitalized speech, but I think this is better than no Sound or PC Speaker

But i have an other problem.
I got the Bestseller Games CD with GS2000 and I&I Addon. But there was only the I&I Manual on it.
The last time i played Gs2000 was about 12 Years ago I think, so I don't remember all Keyboard commands to fly the gunships.
Does anyone of you happen to have the manual for original game?
Alas, the link at HotU is broken and i couldn't find it somewhere else in the net, exept for this amiga conversion of the manual. amiga Manual GS2000
But the Author says he changed some of keys for the didn't work correctly for the Amiga conversion, so if anyone of you can send me the Manual for the PC-Version please write me a PM.

🤣 this was an old thread...but it dutifully notified me that you had replied. I haven't played GS2000 in a while but I might at that. Still haven't found a chopper game worthy to be its successor.

I didn't know about D-Fend Reloaded...downloading it now.

I have my original GS2000 manual from when my dad bought it in the early 90s but no way I'm parting with it. I'll attach what I have here. Let me know if you still need help.

Thats exactly what i needed. Many Thanks. I attached the GS2000.conf.txt which my D-Fend created. Only thing you have to change should be the path to your files since i didn't work with relative paths there.
Hope this works for you.
And many thanks again for the fast help.

*Edit*
I don't understand this. yesterday evening i tried around 20 times with ATI FX and everytime it worked. Today i get the same bug again.
So it seens this wasn't the solution for the problem. Sorry.

*another Edit*
Ok, I tried setting the core emulation to to dynamic and cycles to 6000. Now it not only runs much smoother, but also the bug is gone. At least it was the 10 times i tried. I also set back the Sound to Soundblaster and it also worked with this. I attached the changed conf file.
