Symphony is my only Dos program.

Before discovering DosBox, I needed a stand alone computer to run Sym2 under XP. With DosBox, I can run simultaneously XP programs in their windows and Sym2 in its own window... and discard the 2nd computer.

Thank you to DosBox for this good step. But now I have a few questions.

The major one : When I start Sym2 under DosBox, CPU usage stays under 5% for around 10 minutes, then it shoots up to between 60 and 90, slowing down every running program.

Note : Unneeding sound or else, I already discarded, in Dosbox.conf, all unneeded functions. The problem stays even after I reduced DosBox priority to normal, should I go below that ?

Suggestions would be apreciated. Thanks

Thanks but no change.
Even tried 25% and lowest priority and not working with Sym2. No good. And it seems the lower the cycles %, the quicker CPU usage reaches the 60-90 band...

Help ! I waited too long to find DosBox.

try a fixed amount of cycles

cycles=5000

and maybe

core=normal

as well

Water flows down the stream
How to ask questions the smart way!

No, wd, I am talking about DosBox CPU usage. It looks more like something in DosBox fires up after a while...

QBix : Applied suggestions. Still no good.

Thanks, Pierre
