That's the first hit when googling P6VBX7. I suppose it's that one out of the three, as the V must stand for VIA?

Bottom line, only PPGA support as far as I can tell.

...appears to be the later B revision with additional processor support, and although it shows the Polaris brand, the bios id (2A6LGSHG) shows as Luckytech on Wims Bios (Luckytech Technology (SYE) VIA Apollo Pro Plus (692/ 2A6LGSHG)

Yeah this BIOS does not work at all, i tried to patch it with rom.by,

but i can`t seem to get further then this:

VIA C3 and Coppermine Celeron are the only both CPU that will get to this point.

Seems i`m stuck to Mendocino, what a shame 100Mhz Bus and you can`t use it.

I remember a huge boost when I upgraded my Asus P2L97-A from a P2-233 to a PPGA Slocket Celeron 533.

These Celerons are not bad at all at those clocks, but all depends what you wish to do with it. I will not run Crysis 😀

No need to go for Celeron 300. Mendocino Celeron 333-366 may work at 100Mhz FSB as well as the limit of manufacturing process was about 550Mhz. Just make sure to buy them in bulk. I have about 20 of these of various speeds except for 466-533 which are worthless as multiplier is way too high. They are fastest CPUs if your board doesn't support lower voltage than 1.8V.

For what it's worth, the VIA C3 can utilize the 100MHz FSB.
Btw, you have any idea which exact C3 chips are actually supported by your board?

Even if he had wanted to, his board is a s370 board and s370 Mendocino started at 333MHz. 300MHz Mendocino is Slot 1 only. Would be interesting to see if someone would be crazy enough to build a Slot1 2 s370 Adapter though 🤣
So I edited this before I first posted this because I wanted to check first and apparently there was a PPGA Mendocino 300MHz part! I always thought the 333MHz Mendocino was always the slowest for s370. Kinda a shame I don't have one but oh well.
I'd still want to see someone crazy make a Slot 1 to s370 adapter though 😜

Years ago I had a Via chipset Socket 370 AT board that worked with a Tualatin Celeron when combined with a Lin Lin socket adapter. This was in 2005/2006 when said adapter was still available at a very reasonable price, something that's unfortunately no longer the case. That was the fastest AT computer I've ever had.
