Well, unless they're making profit from the P&P costs, that sort of pettiness doesn't make sense; it would be far easier to bundle everything together/into a couple of larger lots, unless the post costs change astronomically for doing so.

Got two Taiwanese 64GB 800x CF cards, seller claimed they support UDMA6 with 120MB/s read and 60MB/s write speeds.
HA! No way. They run in UDMA4 and 40MB/s read and 10MB/s write is the best they can do. Reason enough to return them.

edit: or, maybe not... There's a jumper on the CF adapter to run it at 3.3V. With that set, the controller does detect them as being UDMA6 capable. But now neither DOS or Windows will boot. Any ideas?

Have you reinstalled Windows on them after the change? I could see that a UDMA change could plausibly confuse the OS that much.

There's no Windows on it, in fact there's nothing on it at all (did a Secure Erase after the write test). And the other SSDs work fine in UDMA5 and 6 mode.

When plugged in the mainboard IDE socket at 3.3V, it seems to work at first and both Windows and DOS will boot. But any attempt to access it or run a benchmark crashes right away.

Just ordered a junk Dell Latitude C600 to use for structural parts for the one I have right now; may well swap the screen and keyboard as well if they're in good shape (laptop is advertised as not powering on).

I think he does but not much.
For example shipping a DVD-RW unit in sweden is 5 Euro but he charged 6.6 Euro for the shipping and so on and so forth.

The reason he gave for not shipping the stuff in one package was that everything was already packed.
How hard can it be to tape a few packages together?

On my way home today I stopped at the local electronic waste dumpster and found... 9!!! CD/DVD-RW units along with a 100 mbit network card! , a floppy drive, a ATI HD5570, a Geforce 7600 GT AGP, 2x Soundblaster Live, 3x 512MB DDR, 1x2GB DDR3, 2x 8cm fans, a ISA sound card, alot of cables, a keyboard and the game themepark world. Today is a better day than yesterday.

Here comes a short rant.

Some sellers on the Swedish "Ebay" are just totally messed up in the head.

I bought a motherboard from a seller and because he was shipping with a carrier that allows 10KG for a fair price I put in a 0.1 Euro bid on the rest of his auctions. I won a few but the seller wont ship the stuff together so I have to pay ~6-7 euro for every 0.1 Euro item I won. He wont allow me to just pay for the stuff and let him throw it away or sell it to someone else either. I can choose between getting a negative rating for every auction I won or pay up. Swedish "Ebay" allow sellers to rate buyers. The seller only do this because he feels I got the stuff too cheap but for me a DVD-RW is hardly worth 7 Euro shipping and a PCI 100mbit network card is for sure not worth 4 Euro shipping 🙁

I will not buy from this retard again.

I once had a similar issue on a local auction site. I won the auction for a box of gear worth 0.02$ in the same city, about 1km distance from home. The seller said he "had to feed kids" and added a $15 for shipping on top of it. I told him to f* off and he said he would like us to exchange neutral feedbacks and pretend nothing happened... I left my feedback and sent a letter to the website administration, haven't seen his account ever since.

Can you pay, then make a refund?

No in Sweden we rarly use PayPal we transfer money through our banks 🙁
Stuff is generally much cheaper on Swedish "Ebay" (Tradera) compared to the international Ebay but you get no help when things end up badly.

Some post services accept packages only as one box, without marks and labels.
Or you must repack all into their box/bags.
So if you do all work at home, pack everything and fill all forms (for post and customs) - you loose your time and few money.

Not this one. "Schenker" accepts just about eveything up to 10KG in weight and some restrictions when it comes to size, the price is 5 - 9 Euro depending on weight.
This is for "Tradera" stuff otherwise the price is about 1-2 Euro more expensive.

edit

Here is a pic of todays dumpster loot, or most of it at least 😀

edit2

I went out again as I needed to dump some stuff in the recycling room. I took another look in the electronic waste dumpster and found more memory modules and alot more cables.
Who throws away sata cables and 2GB DDR3 memory modules? I guess someones wife got fed up with having the living room littered with computer stuff 😀

2GB DDR3 should sell fairly easily as well, if priced sensibly. SATA cables would probably only sell for 99p plus P&P though.

But those are things that can be kept without using much space.
I can't see any valid reason to throw them out unless defective

They're small, which makes it very easy for them to be dropped in a bin and thrown out by accident. Equally, they could've seemed defective in a defective system, if that makes sense.

It should be one the best 2D DOS cards for AGP systems, or so I hope.
