Sorry about the duplicate posts. Each time i tried to submit this, i got an error page (but in the background it did create it anyway - quite confusing behaviour. How do one delete/remove posts on this forum? i can see a "delete this post" on this particular post, but that option is not there on the previous three attempts...)

As long as your posts are the last posts in the thread, you can delete the last post by editing (it gives the option to delete), then you delete the one before, until only your first post remains. Not sure if that still works for posts before the last one.

When you get the error page, going back one page goes to the new reply page, with your reply intact. Go back again, and you get to the thread. Refresh and you will see your post was successful and the error is a bug.

Bought this nice boxed Sound Blaster 1.5 CT-1320C . Will be a great upgrade for my 286 Olivetti.
Works fine and clean 😀

Very nice. Great find! I'm pretty sure I had this card in my Olivetti PCS 286 in the early 90's.

I just picked up my christmas gift for myself. It's a 1st gen Aztech card in box with Adlib, SB2.0 and most interesting to me it has Covox and Disney Sound source support. I have previously hacked together a Covox-card for the parallel port but it was a little buggy, I hope this implementation is better.

I bought this Dell Pentium 4 computer for literally one dollar. I normally wouldn't buy any Pentium 4 computer, but...

...it came with this, a GeForce 6800 128MB. Not as good as the 256MB version but definitely worth one dollar!

I really like that case, it looks so sturdy and over powered. And i really-really like that price 😁

Please use the "quote" option if asking questions to what I write - it will really up the chances of me noticing 😀

a very nice mobo and the planned cards are just perfect for it... Symphony chipset is a very good one
I would replace these caps just in case, the mobo is too good to risk explosions!

Hi everyone,

Managed to pickup a bunch of retro hardware from local sources and evilbay.

First a boxed S3 isa VGA card boxed sourced from a local seller @ the low price of 20€:

Also locally sourced, a bundle of assorted parts, all working except de PGa370 mobo:

Had to pull my trigger on a IBM model M2 keyboard for the low price of 20€. It had the usual problems, dirty and leaky smd caps. After cleaning and repair it has become a beautiful specimen of a clicky M2.

From a websotre specialized on electronics I bought 2 NOS ASTEC VL202-3425 PSU @12€ each.
The cool thing about it is that they are AT "compatible", the build quality is very good, and only requires a small modification to the 3pin connector (PS_ON#).

And for these PSU, also a bunch of switch's:

Strangely, had a computer where the stem of the power switch spited in to 2 parts , so had to stock up....

Now, from Ebay, found a external floppy drive for a Schneider Euro PC:

Had a small cosmetic problem, but fine otherwise.

Next, a Tulip DT4/66. It is a late compact 486 using PCI chiset from intel.

Another cool thing is that those PSUs have an ATX-like soft-off/standby, i.e. the power switch is not connected to mains making them very safe. Very well built units, and Astec normally uses all-Japanese caps.

Final buy for the year is this Geforce 7900GS 256 AGP card, its in what looks mint condition, if its ever been used it doesn't show it. I had intended on going with a X850 XT but that seller caused quite a bit of trouble for me and I had to eventually (took 21 days) get the sale canceled by eBay. I have modded 98 drivers for it but its going into the Dual Athlon MP box with XP/Win 2k so 98 support isn't essential .. its nice to have though even if not perfect.

Bit of a gamble as its a 7000 series GPU, but if it hasnt been used and abused then chances are its ok, otherwise Ill have to fall back to a 6800.

I still remember how incredible the 6000 series was at launch and bought a 6800 GT myself. I could turn everything up to max without it even breaking a sweat. It was impressive to see games ramp up to take advantage of all of that raw power.

Oh i have the exact same one.
I think this card looks great. Even the dvi connectors are yellow/green instead of the basic white.

This is one of/the last nvidia agp card. (I think there are some 7950gt in agp too.)

Edit: and it overclocks well. Re: Netburst: Aiming for the Stars
