Today i received my midiman mpu-401 device..
The floppys warent original.. I get an 1.44 MB HD floppy with software on and tested it and works.. So fast as i could, copy it to my harddisk, before the floppy could get corrupted..

Second floppy is an old blue DS/DD 720KN sony one.. But that one seemed to be a very bad floppy its making weird noises and its hard to read by the floppy drive. I can see the software on it, but one file couldnt be saved when i tried to recover the floppy..

I have wrote the file name and size name on notepad, because its easier to regonize which floppy was very bad..

I could almoste recover eventhing accept: MM401.EXE..

So i want to ask the members over here.. Is there anyone that could me give me a copy of this disk?? Because its very hard to find on the internet.

Let me have a look and see if the disk works.

Note however, that you don't require ANY software for driving a MT-32 under DOS.

Those MIDI interfaces (Midiman and Roland MPU) are truly Plug 'n' Play.

Just plug it in, and start playing games!

Ok, it could be plug and play, but i want to full software package of it..

I have also send the seller on ebay a message, i hope they could send me the working one.. If i have it, you can get it from me too.. But let me know if you find something..

I think i have fixed it.. MM401.EXE wasnt that important file, because it was an extractor file with files that allready bin extracted in that directory...

Then i tested it and seemed working fine.. So if you dont overwrite the other files then its working great..

It justs fitts on a 720KB floppy disk.

And maybe the seller send me the new software..

Iam waiting on a fault less one from the seller.. If i receive it through my e-mail..
I will reupload those one two..

Bad copy pro said that 7.3 procent of the file mm401.exe was bad.. So i cant secure if it would work for 100%..

Here i have a copy of the ROM from the MIDIMAN MM-401 interface card:

Its version 1.15 copyrighted at 1991.. So if you want to renew your ROM or fix a dead one.. You could use this one..

No worries.

If you see any other errors, you can actually fix them yourself. The edit function is open to anybody, it's just protected by a CAPTCHA that you have to enter.

I have the same card - never needed any software: it 'just works', anything that needed the device type/driver specifying worked with a standard MPU401 driver or setting.

Its nice if everything is included, some people use it some dont.. But better have more tools / software then none..
