I think they gave up on groceries and large appliances but they've tried those out over the years too.... you can buy chips, sheets, new tie rod ends, a 3/16 fine thread nut, a bike, lego, pet food, a canoe... I dunno how the hell to describe the place really.

Edit: about the only things I'll add is that they also usually have an electronics section year-round with mostly budget offerings, a pretty extensive tool section with a fairly well regarded in-house brand, and around Christmas they'll bring in an expanded toy selection too.

Last computer I remember them selling though was those Little Linux Laptop netbooks with 400Mhz MIPS CPU and a windowsish gui, about 12-13 years ago.

It's rumored the MasterCraft Pro line of hand tools is made with the old Sears Craftsman patterns/dies/machines but dunno how true that is.

Yes, the DXR2 will work with any DVD drive. I have mine working with a Samsung DVD/CD-RW drive in a Pentium MMX build. It also decodes video codex streamed from the hard drive.

CT is like hardware store, power tools and auto parts, automotive fluids and lubes, tires, pet food and such, sports, outdoors stuff, camping stuff, and some seasonal stuff thrown together. Unique to CT is fake money that you get with each purchases. Save up some of those to help with buying stuff.

Oh nice! I was surprised to see zero branding on the case but when I Google Osborne I do find similar examples to yours. None like mine however which is curious. Then again, the bottom panel is separate to the rest of the front panel so they probably swapped it out to give it a more business look since apparently it was originally a business PC.

Bug manifested in my own code so I just came up with a solid minimal test case and added it to my bug testing routines. It's sort of funny that program to test CPU bugs actually found a new one, but in a code that wasn't supposed to do that.
Anyway, AFAIK the IBM chips are not based on Cyrix core but rather something IBM did (or more likely Intel on IBM behalf) - not even sure why they bothered. It's not like IBM couldn't just get the latest 486 from Intel, or clones from AMD.

Played around with Versavideo last night, I need a longer composite cable. Might be tempted to record some stuff for YouTube using this setup. I'm kind of surprised how good a 486 can be at capturing video game footage from an actual NES.

This morning, shipped off an AT tower case I sold on e-bay and got lucky that someone was coming in to USPS because it would not fit the deposit box. Then ordered myself a 387 (actually a Green Math 4c87) for the Compaq - there's some things I have software wise I want to run on it that use and even require an FPU.
