So i have a voodoo3 2000 pci card Ive tried this card in so many motherboards and glide dosnt seem to work right in the gog versions of Unreal Tournament and Dues ex G.O.T.Y.
whenever i select glide as render device it keeps resorting back to driverclass 800x600 and stuck in window mode, but in directx i have no problems.
Ive tried th latest driver as well as unofficial drivers, even updated the bios on the card itself.
Unreal gold runs fine under glide.

I wonder what changes if any were made to those gog versions, this is why I often resort to seven seas looking for old things 😉

On a far away planet reading your posts in the year 10,191.

It's possible the Gog versions think they're smart enough to slip in a Glide wrapper, so find a glide2x/3x.dll in Deus Ex/System and eliminate them. it then should use your real voodoo card

Yup, that's often the case. I'm pretty sure all three games come with nGlide. You will also find the nGlide config executable in the game folder, that gives it away as well.

@ Oldskoolmaniac

nGlide does run under Windows 98. If you have a high powered Windows 98 machine with a DX9 graphics card, it runs games very well, even past the performance of a V5.

You need to delete the .dll files like leileilol mentioned 😀

You should be able to use Direct3D on any 3dfx card.

3dm2001 will be fussy on <V2 however (no DX7 driver support for Voodoo Graphics), 2003+ will not run at all on any Voodoo.

It was cuz i was using these drivers: 3dHQ V1.09.00 Beta10 for some reason it only half installed on my gateway, but on my p3 rig its fine so I just installed the latest official and all is well.
