Thanks gbeirn!
Yes, as for socket 7 it's quite extraordinary...
Now I bought PC Partner MVP3BS7-954 and I aim do do the "super tiny" socket 7 build... thinkind of small soundcard, and graphic card.

Although I hate VIA, I really appreciate what you're doing. There is a certain shade of green PCB that I like...it should be a nice deep glossy green, like what Orchid used on its products. Matching shades of green is hard enough. I can only imagine the headache involved in going red. I remember in the 90s there was this guy who owned a used PC hardware store that collected parts with blue PCB...it was old stuff too. Mostly from the 286 generation.

I know what kind of gray you mean... I have Tseng et6000 and newly bough AdLib asb 64 wave in this deep green colour... I'll try to look for that kind of motherboard...

Blue PCB socket 7 build seems even more difficult than red... although I didn't knew red s7 mobo existed before I bought this one...

This project needs SATA hard drives, usb 2.0 support, and firewire. All in one, convenient card.

#Batyra:

Have you thought of naming this build, something that refers to the red colour? Like "The Devil", "Angry old man" or something just a bit political, like Stalin or Lenin?

For a network card, you can also consider 3com 3C508-TPO/TPC if you want to use era correct parts. At least one version comes with a red PCB.

lol, that board looks like it's compatible with literally everything. You got two power connectors, two type of RAM slots, 3 types of expansion slots, goddamn.

Not that uncommon with Via MVP3 boards, I don't think. Another is DFI P5BV3+.

Yeah.... I had an Epox MVP3C that I sold some time ago.
It had some of the same qualities, such as AT/ATX-Power, Cyrix/AMD/Intel, AGP, PCI and ISA.

Tips for red PCI card
red PCI ATA133+SATA controllers are comon if you want connect modern HDDs or SSD
old Pinnacle TV Tuner cards are red
Some ESS and other PCI sound cards were red too
red 3DFX Voodoo or Voodoo2?
many USB 2.0 and Firewire card were red

Careful, the SATA chipset on that isn't forward compatible with newer hard drives (I believe SATA3+).
