Hello. Today I bought an old pc for 36 euros ($39). It has a Celeron 900 and a Geforce 2 MX400 64mb AGP on a QDI Advance 10B motherboard and 512mb SDRAM. Seems to work well, except for the cd-rom drive which I replaced. So I found the manual from this motherboard and it says it supports Coppermine Pentium 3 1000 and all later cpu's with 133Mhz bus. Will I be able to install a Tualatin pentium3 cpu on this motherboard also? Will I need to install another bios version to do that? Or the best cpu I can install on this m/b is the 1133 Coppermine? Thanks!

Maybe a modded cpu will work but otherwise no tualatin support on that board/chipset.

Well in US maybe you could find that a bit cheaper, but in greece I searched for about a month to find a perfectly working 1999-2000 spec pc with less than 50euros.
I also have another system with a coppermine 800. Will a 1000MHz SL52R Pentium3 be significantly faster than the celeron and the 800mhz pentium3? Is such an upgrade worthy? I found that chip for about 15 euros on ebay.

Look at these benchmarks, there are a lot of CPU's inside ...

Considering these values and that the test benchmarks were done with a Radeon 9700pro / GF4-Ti4600,
you can see these values (Q3 / 3Dmark2001 / UT2003, games in 1024x768), the values for the Celeron 900 are interpolated and shall be ~OK 😎 .

So I bought the other day the P III 1000EB for 6 bucks from ebay. I'll update in a couple of weeks when I get it on my hands.
