I guess that all the pins besides VCC pins are directly connected to the bottom in the original adapters, but that would need to be confirmed.

Awesome

Can anyone confirm that all the pins are in the same position?
I think I have all the parts already to make a proto.
I don't have a spare motherboard to experiment with and I really don't want to kill my motherboard by testing

I Have 15 Units new 486 voltage converters. If somebody is interested please send me a PM

I don't seem to be able to PM because I have not done enough posts on this forum.
That seems to be a nice board.
Are you going to put them on ebay?
How much do you want for a board?
Thanks!

@Robfed: I deleted your two posts as Vogons has a strict rule against trading and especially ebay advertising/links. Unfortunately these rules are not marked in the *rules* but in sticky topics (but we are working on it 😀).
If you offer them as giveaway, please proceed but mark them accordingly.

This sounds like an interesting project/experiment. Would it make sense to route the original VCC connections to a voltage regulator/converter or would it be just as good or better to leave those pins unconnected and get power in a different way?

I've been looking for one of these too. I have an old Dell System 486P, It'll only take 5v cpu's, has a dx 66 in it, but want to put my 100mhz dx4 in.
I'm in the UK which is even harder to find these.
