Hi, i searched web for few days, and i had found many pages with BIOS for PKM-0038S, but i'm not sure which BIOS will "fit" to my MBO. I bought this MBO without BIOS chip, and now i wanted to try my luck with it. I have found BIOS for v3, v6, v2-2, but i'm not sure which from them will work on mine board. Every picture i found is slightly different from mine, and i didn't find E-2 version. Can anybody help me? I will upload pic of MBO in attachments.

According to the old website: http://web.archive.org/web/19980123080907/htt … com.hk/bios.htm
I think you want 4WSPD306.BIN BIOS Version 3.06 for PKM-0038S E-2A. That should be as close as you can get if you can find it.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I already tried to download this bios, but it says that is not archived. Thanks anyway.

It should be fine. Back then you could even run a BIOS from another motherboard and have a chance that it'd work just right. Just try it and the worst you might get is a black screen.

Would if I could but cannot DL it from the archive and cannot find it anywhere else yet. If I find it will attach it here....

I realize that this topic is over a year old, but I just noticed this request for the 4WSPG306.BIN BIOS file (I assume 4WSPD306.BIN was a typo).
I have this file and share it here for anyone who needs this latest Version 3.06 BIOS for the DTK PKM-0038S / Gemlight GMB-486SG boards.

4WSPG306.BIN details:
Award v4.50G, 64KB
BIOS-ID: 11/28/95-SIS-85C471B/E/G-2C4I9G30-00
BIOS Ver.: 40-0306-2C4I9G30-V3.06

This BIOS supports all 486 CPU models, including the Am5x86-P75 in 4x33 and L1 cache WB mode.
It is free from the Y2094 and 2GB HDD display limit bugs, so it correctly supports drives up to 8GB.

Note that this BIOS shows the “L1 cache: WB/WT” option in the BIOS Setup only for the P24T and for Cyrix CPUs.
For the P24D (486DX2WB), Am486DX4WB and Am5x86, this 11/28/95 BIOS can detect if these CPUs are in WB mode and programs the chipset registers accordingly. It then hides the “L1 cache: WB/WT” option, because user interaction for this automatic function is not required.
So, you only have to find the correct jumpers for L1 WB mode for these CPUs and the BIOS takes care of the rest. 😉

Cheers, Jan
