So I've been wanting to build a Socket 7 K5-PR90 system, and I remembered I had an AB-TX5 motherboard. Is this motherboard any good?

After checking out the stat sheet here it looks promising, has everything you need in a P1 board. Also a Tom's harware review from back in the day seemed to have nice things to say about it, including a 83mhz fsb setting that worked with their 233mmx calling it the "TX chipset OC king".

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
Retro PC: Soyo P4S Dragon, 3gb ddr 266, 120gb Maxtor, Geforce Fx 5950 Ultra, SB Live! 5.1

Jan has a patched BIOS to allow that board to work with the K6-2+: http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/J.Steunebrink/k6plus.htm

Wow, this seems overkill now, I was planning on using this board with a K5-PR90

It may not be a truly contemporary board for a 90MHz K5, but personally I wouldn't waste time trying to find a worse socket 5/7 board to run it in. It looks like a very convenient board given that you get both AT and ATX power connectors as well as the choice of using SIMM or DIMM.
