8400gs Sorry I read the label again. I actually heard bad stuff about the AGP version of my gpu

I would test my 7800GS but since it same brand/model as OP, etc am sure it is a nv G70.

Here: 7800GS - where to look.png

Interesting. Card looks same but HS+fan, shroud and label do not look like my BFG 7800GS.

BFG had "official" support for their 7800GS in driver version 82.16

Nice. The BFG 7800GS box does say Win98, ME, 2000, XP, etc like the archive website does. Guess I need to check the driver CD that came with my card.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

There are also "modded" 82.69 drivers that work with up to the 7900GTX. I know these work because I have tested with them.

Geforce 7900 GS AGP Windows 98

82.69:

In the filter on the right hand side, enter nv

That was really nice of BFG; my Asus 7600 GS provided no Win9x driver whatsoever.

And thanks for the 82.69 driver.

Later model with full copper heatsink. Early shipments were all with reference cooler and G70.

Nah, I have that card with G71.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

I suspect there are both G70 and G71 versions of the card, just because you have the G71 variant does not mean that all are G71. Given the BIOS contains either G70 or G71 post the BIOSes from your cards so we can see what they contains.

The screen shots I am asking for will also say G70 or G71.

I still need to know the PCI ID and Chipset ID from a G71 GeForce 7800 GS+ AGP, screen shots similar to as below would be ideal.
