What type of chip is used for a award 32 pin, 27c or 29c? the numbers are gone on this one.

What motherboard ? Most newer 32pin are 29c type or equal. You need to know if the board uses +5v or +12v for eeprom flashing (unless you a external programmer) AND the size.
Examples like Atmel AT20c010 (5v 1Mbit), SST 29EE010 (5v 1Mbit), Smos F29c5100 (5v 2Mbit), Intel P28F001 (12v 1Mbit).

Ok your board uses a 1Mbit eeprom. From google images I see a few different BIOS chips. Atmel AT29c010 (5v VPP) on this: https://wiki.preterhuman.net/images/3/37/486sp3-1.jpg
An SST 27SF010 or 29EE010 on another, hard to read the micro print but is def an SST eeprom.
