Hello everyone,
I got an old PC with SY-6BA+ III board, most of its components were working fine, however, the 20GB hard drive is totally ruined, so I had to get another 40GB drive and it turns out that the PC only recognizes drives up to 30GB, so I tried to update the BIOS and this is where everything went wrong and the motherboard is now bricked.
Apparently the BIOS that I tried to update was not correct because its size is 256K and the backup of the original BIOS is only 128K.
I think I can still recover the motherboard using a universal USB programmer, but I need your help to get a proper updated BIOS if possible to recognize my 40GB drive.
I know that I can recover the motherboard using a TL866 or TL866II, however these 2 universal programmers are quite expensive considering that I will probably only use them once. If you know of any cheaper tools that can help me, I would appreciate your help.
I am attaching a picture of my board's EEPROM, the BIOS backup, and the BIOS I tried to update.
