How about an USB interface and audio out on the McCake like it is on the Dreamblaster X2? Like for Routing the Dosbox MIDI to this device.

Wouldn't it be better to just run Munt or a Soundfont directly on the host machine if you are running Dosbox on a modern machine? You could also just run MT32 Pi on a regular Pi 3/4 rather than a ComputeUnit 4 and get what you are asking for.

Yep, you 're right. I obviously didn't thought this through.

So I can just plug this into my MPU 401 ISA cards wavetable and get full mt32 sound via Munt?

Yes that is the idea, perfect companion for Keropi's MPU / Orpheus card
just plug on wavetable header
and also, it needs additional power through floppy cable (due to the high current).
You can also power through wavetable header, but that is only suitable for high current interfaces, like the new CHiLL II

I will make a new revision.. with a tiny display on it as well
Think it would be a nice addition.

the display could be local on the board,
or optionally extended to a 3d printed 3.5inch bay plate.

The display would be awesome. That plus the Chill2 board with a 3D printed case could make for some really awesome MT32 replacement!

Hope there will be a final pruduct "budget" option without the display, only the interface for connecting the compute module to your waveblaster header.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

Love this project! Feature request time!

Will there be ways to cycle ROMs for munt (CM32L, old MT32) as well as load different sound fonts from within DOS like you can with MDF and a midi PC emulator?
