Thanks all. 😀
Yeah, I suspected that it's not that rare. I just wanted to know because I have a hard time finding info and cards for sale. It's not rare, yet still not a common card. It has that DFP connector that never went popular. Wonder if there is some kind of converter to make a DVI output?
What is plenty of out there, is the 16mb Pro. It has the same heat sink.

Anyway. Thanks for all replies. 😀

So my only question left, are still how rare this card is. 😀

I doubt there is another card in existence with the same serial number 😉. Its a one of a kind!

Except of course now that we know the serial number we can duplicate the sticker and slap it on other identical cards, and make cheap knockouts. 😀

Casting resurrect dead on this thread.

I have yet another variation of this strange card to add to the list. This time the Gateway version (also manufactured by Creative Labs, almost surely derived from the 3D Blaster Ultra. Im almost sure there the same board with different cooling solutions).

The card hasn't arrived yet but it was listed as "Creative 3D Blaster CT5823 Ultra TNT2", it has the correct cooling solution, and the correct amount of memory. Everything points to it being an Ultra (The "regular" CT5823 non ultra's have smaller "Block" coolers on them).

Please view my notes under each image for more explanations. I believe I've somewhat determined the 2 variants differences.

There is first the OP's "S-Video Out" Model with multiple video outputs and all chip sockets occupied.
Then there is mine and second persons "VGA Only" model with one empty socket which i believe was a S-Video controller. I believe there to be no difference between the Gateway and Compaq versions of these cards. I'll add more information when the card arrives.

Could OP and person with VGA version grab screenshots of what the drivers and or GPU-Z say about there cards? I seriously want to get to the bottom of these passive cooled TNT2 Ultra's (It's also nice being a member of Club Ultra now)

Hi all...
I have this Compaq TNT2 Ultra 32mb AGP. It has these ports: VGA, S-VHS, VESA-DFP.
The reason for me asking, is that there is not that much information about it on the internet.
And I can not really find it on eBay or on any other sites like that.

The odd thing is that the heatsink seems to be similar to that of Voodoo 3, except that it's cut a bit longer. It has the same amount of fins, but I don't have one so can't check if sizes and position of fins match.

I can't really see, but it would be funny if they indeed would match 😜

Sure, should be easy to find on ebay.
DFP is more common on ATI Rage cards, on a TNT2 card I'd rather expect a proper DVI connector instead.
DFP is restricted to 1280x1024 so you'd have to keep that in mind.

I also have one of these, with the strange connector. I've seen a few of these Compaq / Creative TNT2 Ultras on ebay but hardly any with this weird port.

What was the verdict? How many millions should I insure it for? 😲

That is DFP, the predecessor of DVI-D. Some early LCD monitors have this kind of connection. Also there are DFP - DVI adapters... I have one and it allows me to connect regular DVI LCD to card like this. My Rage LT Pro worked perfectly with 15'' 1024x768 DVI LCD http://hw-museum.cz/vga/70/ati-rage-lt-pro

TNT2 with DFP is definitely rare. Well, any card with DFP is kinda hard to find because it wasn't very common interface. And I believe TNT2 was the last GPU to use it. GeForce 256 already had DVI.

Thanks for the info, I missed the early stage of LCD's and didn't move from CRT's until most of the modern games started supporting widescreen, around the release of the Athlon 64's.

I think this is the only card I have with this port. My other TNT2 Ultra doesn't have it.
