I have this in a laptop that I would like to use for Windows 3.1. It works with the Microsoft SVGA driver at 256 colors, but I would like the option of more colors, if possible. I would assume that there is no GDI acceleration with this generic driver as well.
Not ideal, but have you tried the 9385 Win 3.1 drivers?

Edit: Actually, the readme states for 93xx so this might do it.
That's interesting. The drivers say that they support 93XX, but I get solid colors instead. It might not be compatible with the 9388 in my laptops.
The VESA.ZIP I found from that list fixed some corruption issues I was having though with PC Player Benchmark at 640x480. Thanks for that.
