Hello I have an old IBM t42(pentium m 1.7ghz, mobility radeon 7500)with win98se on it. The main game I want to play us NFSPU. I know this game has problems on newer systems so i went this route. But I still get the low res(cockpit, licence plates etc.) problem. Any known fixes? I tried googling but all the links I found were dead. I though this game should run great on win98 😒
Are you even sure you are getting the problem, because even when it works fine, the textures are rather low rez and blurry, don't expect sharp high res textures in this game. When it does develop the problem, they can get even lower rez and even blurrier. The game is not picky for OS and should work even on win10, what it is picky for is cpu speed, it bugs to the even lower rez textures at over 2ghz, so should still be fine at 1.7

i see both of them same. the pic that you compared it to may be a modded version of the game.

Here you can check how the CPU speed (above 2.1 GHz) related problem manifests itself coamparing the same dashboard:
Good at 1.8 GHz
Bad at 3.0 GHz
ok I guess it might be the resolution if they use 800*600 for textures
