Yeah, I bought a 6800GS AGP from an Ebay seller in Dzerzhinsk in 2020 for a good price. He even threw in a chocolate bar! It took forever to get here, he said it was mistakenly sent on a ship and he even offered to give me a refund, but I was willing to wait. He shipped it on September third, I finally got it the end of November. Crazy times we live in.

Won this Shuttle AK32A Rev 2.1 board with a Duron CPU installed. Can take either SD-RAM or DDR RAM up to 2GB, which is nice. No ISA, sadly.

for me any Russia seller is away till 2030, same for Belarus sellers.

Ebay didnt ban them outright but they are all away and no longer ship outside Russia.

I ordered something from a Russian seller right before they had become blocked. I wonder when (and if) it will arrive.

IIRC, ISA and DDR occured together on very few boards, if any. Some had early USB 2.0.

Still glad I got the "gold" before it hit the two figure price range, but I'm wondering what was inferior about the "value" AWE64.
Half the onboard RAM? (didn't check the fine print on that one chip.)
No useless spdif header, no RCA connectors, no blingbling. But strangely, that one found time to install an IDE controller.
Little 15 mm green cable hand soldered besides the main chip. They did even worse on the ISA video blaster plus, but by 1996, one would have thought they knew how to design circuitry?

Found 3 PCI Radeon 9250 cards, bought them because I'm looking for a newer PCI graphics card for more then two years... as for the new, seald mobile rack, I just couldn't leave it for just 4 Euros.

Also found these two gems:

- Geforce 256 DDR from Creative, CT6970 3D Blaster Annihilator Pro
- Geforce2 TI from Prolink, if I'm right...

Paid for all and a HP 18.5 V laptop charger 33 euros. Still need to test the cards, I don't have high hopes for the CT6970, because it has a few missing SMD caps on the rear side 🙁

Those capacitors can easily be repaired by someone with the right equipment. Don't throw them away if they don't work.

The GeForce 256 DDR is an especially nice find. They seem to be quite rare.

Give that CT6970 a chance, GF 256 in general have become rather rare. And CL included DVI and a good TV-out chip by Conexant. Nice find.

A little silly, but I finally found a VGA loop back cable for my voodoo 2 pentium 2 rig in a thrift store. I was using a manual, passive VGA switch before but I wanted to use it with my Compaq Prolinea instead.

Oh and I can finally see the spinning 3dfx logo when I play Tomb Raider. 😀

I've got a card where they're messed up in that area too... coincidence? Or do they fall off if the GPU overheats???

Poor storage, yeah. I did a repair recently on a GeForce 4 To 4200 where I had to replace about a dozen mm size capacitors. This kind of damage is easily repaired with with the right tools and experience.

Finally have all the parts for my Socket 7 DOS box, well all the parts except two fully compatible DOS GPUs, I could have shoved a S3 Virge or ET4000 in it but its a SS7 build and it deserves better than some 3 dollar Virge so during my eBay wanderings I ran across a Untested Riva 128ZX for 20 bucks which is a pretty good price since all the others are priced a hell of a lot higher. Being untested doesnt bother me with a card like this since its built like a S3 Virge and should be unkillable by anything less than God.

Looking good in the photo, if anyone can spot something that looks out of place yell out !

So what does a SS7 DOS box need to go with this card .. yup a Voodoo 1 cause I have yet to play around with DOS based glide and a Voodoo2 IIRC wont work via dos or be very compatible.

Priced lower than the other Voodoo1s listed means this one got bought, which means that I now have everything for a 100% DOS only build that should do everything I need it to, I was going to shove a K6 III 450 in there but I think that even with cache turned off it may still be too fast, so Ill stick a K6 II 300 in there which with cache off should run fairly slow for the crotchety old DOS games that drive like my grand ma.

On my card is definitely mechanical damage! I don't think overheating can cause the SMD's to fell off. That area can heat up quite a bit, but it wouldn't reach 180-200 deg C in order to melt the solder tin. I think...

So, today I had a little more time and tested all the graphics cards bought at the flea market.
The good news is, 4 out of 5 cards are working just fine!
And the most exiting news is, the CT6970 is working perfectly despite the missing SMDs! This was an unexpected surprise!
HWInfo32 identifies it as a CT6974... maybe it's an OEM card after all...

One of the red Radeons is not working at all, it is simply dead. No signal, no POST, no beep, nothing. I think it has a short somewhere, because every time I replace the card with a good one, the PC enters automatically in BIOS(the mainboard is an ASUS CUBX). But I don't really care about it, I'm really excited due to the working Geforce 256 😀

Also happy about finding an appropriate power brick(18.5v original HP) for my Compaq Evo N620c. It turned out the battery on this notebook is like new, it holds the power for more than 2 and a half hours! That is really good, considering the age of this machine 😀. I'm writing this post from this notebook... 😁

Hey! That's a really nice repair job! And I think is easier than using an soldering iron... I should try it out, but I need to get some soldering paste.
