I have managed to somewhat successfully install Windows 98se and Windows XP onto a single machine using BootIt Bare Metal boot manager. It worked until after the XP installation I switched the MBR back to BootIt. Now XP says it cannot find the required system files to boot. Is it looking for the XP system files in the MBR regardless of where the OS was installed? Is there a way to have multiboot with XP.

How did you go about? Order of boot loader and OSs One hdd or two?

System specs would be useful as well...😉

Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

I first installed BootIt and created 3 partitions. One for XP, one for 98se, and one for FreeDOS to play around with. Each partition was 20ish GB in size on a 64gb sd card (using an SD2IDE). It is a P4 1.9ghz build with 512mb of ram.
I then installed 98 to its partition and all went well. I installed FreeDOS next and all good there too.
I installed XP last to its partition and everything was working just fine until I changed the MBR back to BootIt and now it acts like it doesn't know where any of the files are to boot into XP when that partition is selected.
