I was just about to re-cycle a PC case/chassis when it ocurred to me this was not only wasteful ...but in light of my constant testing ..repairing and building PCs it would make an excellent test bench.
This backplane has a helluva lot of mount points for brass standoffs so would likely mount any mobo I gave it.
The sun is shining so broke out the angle grinder and cut it loose.
I will have to drill and rivit the frame ..then mount on a plastic box base which will house stuff like speaker ...switches....psu ....drives etc.
But I've made a start at least.
Ideally the brass standoffs would be better replaced with nylon ones if they can be obtained ...that way I could populate all the mount points and leave them in place..

I just have an old shoe box that I put boards on when I need to test them. I plug in cards I need, power connector and use a screw driver to power it on. It's very quick to set up.
