Hi Vogons,

Now I'm not super into Anime at all, I discovered these sort of things by chance, and have two I think that just about reach perfection.

The first uses the "Building Steam" track from Aether Shanties, by Abney Park and is set to clips from "Steamboy" which is a steampunk Anime movie that is reputed to be the most expensive made. The clips intrigued me and I subsequently watched and enjoyed the movie.

Secondly we have "Code Monkey" by Jonathan Coulton, a quirky song written as a song a day challenge, which ppl in many technical fields and those "into" computing may relate to, using clips from the anime Black Heaven.

Those two are my gold standard, both sets of material, musical and animated seem to mesh very well and obviously also required a lot of talent in the way they were mixed. So does anyone else have any favorites or know any that are extra special in this regard?

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Oh man, Black Heaven. I haven't seen that in over a decade. I don't know how I'd even find it to watch it anymore. The DVDs are long out of print.

One of my all time favorite AMVs was Otaku Vengeance putting the 1997 Beserk anime to Iced Earth's "My Own Savior".

The track is a bit thrashier than my ear tends to enjoy, but it does go together very well, thanks.
