I consistently get this small square of corruption in this one loading screen of 3DMark99 (it appears after the second test, the FPS one). I am running Windows ME with a Coppermine Pentium 3 on a VIA Apollo Pro chipset and a Voodoo 5 PCI with the official driver version 1.04.01 beta.

I'm also getting a red colored haze with a DirectX 7 tech demo that should not be there. This was a demo made to show off the T&L capabilities from NVIDIA but this feature is not required and it renders on non-T&L capable ATI cards just fine.

This demo can be downloaded here.

This square in 3dm99 is certainly not normal.
I can say this for a fact. Same goes for the demo.

Way you have graphics rendering properly everywhere else means the GPU is good and bad square points to one of bad area in VRAM for this GPU. Replace them. I got same effect once on a ET4000/w32i/p and replaced the vram fixed that.

First step is to disable one of two GPU, rerun the demo, you will know which GPU has bad VRAM chips.

Cheers,

In display properties where you open 3dfx tools, you can select the AA options and also run in single mode. Where only the first chip is running.
