It might be an OEM card. The driver packs from Daniel K's website will typically work fine with them (but no win98 support), even when the standard driver downloads don't.

I suppose you mean "retail" in the thread title; an OEM card is not "fake" or "unreal" but simply not available to the general public through retail venues.

For the record, Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer 5.1 has Unreal Tournament bundled. 😉

SB0240, "proper" CA0102 chip, header on the back for I/O drive indicate this is a full blown Audigy 2. It is missing the gold connectors so may have been OEM varent but it is most definitely the real deal.
Cards with the CA0108 chip are the ones to avoid as EAX is only done in software

not sure, but...
sb0240 with colored connectors - audigy 2 player, sold as bulk card
sb0240 gold connectors - audigy 2, or audigy 2 platinum, boxed card
sb0280 gold connectors - audigy 2 platinum ex

every cards are full featured "audigy 2" from the user perspective. i checked for my socket 462, mid 2003 build (the zs released in september).
