Just took a look but I got the Mindscape release (4D Sports Driving) which is unfortunately version 1.1

That's ok. We have version 1.0 but not as a original clean copy.

i dont have 1.0 disks, but I have the old INC crack from back in the day.

I don't know if I know that crack. Can you send it to me? (Archive and history reason)

The new version doesn't have the copy protection so cracks are not necessary anymore.

Ok, I've been playing with the installer and the garage.
They are both very promising but they need tweaks to make them ready for the general public.

The installer:
I really love the fact that it can unpack compressed archives. That is very useful for initial installation and mods (cars, tools and whatever)
I miss the ability to copy the game directory to a new location.

For the garage it is a bit more complicated.
The deletion of the cars in the game directory is scarry.
Maybe a check and automatic backup of cars that are in the game directory.
Then you don't have to provide cars with the package as they are moved to the garage automatically.
Also a backup option to archive the garage.

Categories can be as configuration file only.
In the garage a option to show cars or categories.
And a option to edit a category.
We are still figuring out what categories we need and which cars they contain.
The 3 DTM cars are at least one we know.

I don't really understand the ini files (sorry)
It should not make any difference if ther is one or more cars in a directory.
