I found a couple of Adlib Gold 1000s still sealed, today. It was weird that no one else seemed interested in them.

Pics of you holding them or shens.

Pics of you holding them + yesterdays news paper clearly in the shot.

And not just a "shot" (still photo) but better with a short video. The technological threshold of faking a video is much higher than faking a still photo.

I believe most VOGONS users who know about the history of AdLib Gold 1000 have watched LGR's review video.

I wouldn't be much surprised if those are the AdLib cards he found: https://retronn.de/imports/hwgal/hw_sound_car … msc_16_pnp.html . Then they are worth 5$ indeed 🤣.

If he found any at all because it's just a pure speculation over the guy's second post on VOGONS which doesn't make him very credible especially when he doesn't post any pics.

Just came in today from a local site

The attachment 20211022_133140~2.jpg is no longer available

They are in pretty bad shape; specially the Dell OEM VS440FX is very dirty, fortunately it doesn't seem to have any phisical damage.
The Monster Sound MX300 it has at least 2 caps missing, C2 and C27.
Hope I can get them back to life.

You know about Dell using weird PSU pinouts right? A Permanent Solution to the Dell 'Fake ATX' Power Supply Problem?

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Fine. Here are pictures of them with the Soyo Motherboard box. The lower price tags might have been from a different thrift store.

Unicorns do exist and very occasionally pop up at thrift shops, it seems. Even in pairs.

Now, if a Covox Sound Master would be so kind as to do the same somewhere near me...

Make sure to buy some 10 years old smartphone next time while you thrifting. It would make like 10x better pics. Unless you made those like 15 years ago because that's the quality I was getting from my Sony Ericsson T300i camera. ;D

I trimmed and resized it so as to not waste this sites bandwidth. It was kind of big when I took the pictures at several Megabytes.

VOGONS could do that for you automatically as long as the file is <5MB; trimming and scaling down to ~30KB would be unnecessary.

Anyway, congratulations!

This computer is terrible but it's also interesting so I guess it's worth holding onto. I paid a fair bit more for it than I should have, though.

Looks like an odd mutant device made from a desktop computer, a CD player and a boombox 🤯

This arrived yesterday. It came with all the connection cables, not pictured. I usually prefer the internal ones, but it'll be nice to have one that's portable between systems.
