Doesn't it have FCC ID printed somewhere? On the back maybe?

PS: J1 and J2 should be the same and J3 sets how much memory is installed.

None of those card are the same tough, maybe related of course. For the back I have to wait until I get the card unfortunatly. I hope there is an ID on the back. Along with the jumper settings :p

BTW on an unrelated note. This brute is on its way from Germany. It got the Q-complex, 66mhz original pentium (socket 4). I also have a Y-complex on the way from GB so it will be interesting to see if i can get it up and running 😁

I have the mid-tower version of this case - it is indeed made by Chieftec and is of reasonably good quality

Funny to see the middle light labeled "mode" and not turbo. Wonder what the intention was...

Yeah I actually don't remember if the "mode" LED is actually hard-wired to the "Power ON" LED or if it has its own separate header. In this case it would only work with motherboards that have a soft turbo function (i.e. CTRL ALT +) because the case itself lacks a turbo button. But it doesn't make much sense as this is a case from 1996-1997 and at the time the motherboards had pretty much done away with turbo functionality...

I got an Athlon II X4 640 in the mail today but I'm not sure whether it qualifies as retro or modern.. Most likely neither 😀

Probably "obsolete" or "EOL".

You can still do almost anything, maybe not 1080 on YT.
This is what makes this kind of cpu difficult to define as retro.

There are tons of advantages. The system it self runs way more snappy with an 030 at 50mhz, and although 64mb Ram is kind of overkill, it is cheaper to get a brand new TF-1230 with 64mb than an old 1990's with 16mb of ram. I believe we are talking about 1/3 the price of an old vintage accelerator and I get 4 times more ram. Sure I can do with only 8mb ram upgrade, however I want to be able to run Mac emulator and other stuff instead of just gaming. Gaming is kind of meh' to use it for. It is productivity and office stuff that entrigues me more on the Amiga.

For games I have my Amiga500's and my Amiga600. I only have one or two AGA games that I want to play, else it is all OCS and ECS games that interrests me.

Regarding the price of accelerators for the Amiga1200. Then you can go for one of the old original ones. they go for around 540 euro to 900 euro, and come with anywere from 8 to 32mb Ram. The TF-1230 can be bought for 170 Euro (64mb) or 190 Euro (128mb). In other words. If you just want more ram and more umpfhhh in the machine, then it is insane to buy a Blizzard at 900 Euro even if it comes with 128mb of Ram. Also. An 030 is the sweetspot regarding compatibility, if I want to run WHD-Loader.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention, that with an accelerator you will not have to deal with the PCMCIA bug. If you just stick an 8mb upgrade in the trapdoor, you will have to disable memory over 4mb or something like that, in order to be able to use any PCMCIA devices at all. And the main reason for me to buy an 030 accelerator is more personal. Back in 2006 I sold my former Amiga1200. It had an GVP Turbojaws-II accelerator. That was an 030-50 as well. And to this day I bitterly regret selling it. But I needed the money for moving to a new home across the country. So I am actually in the process of recreating a somewhat similair setup with my new 1200. The difference is, that now I will aim at making a way more awesomme setup this time.

If I am not mistaken this is pretty much the top (and the) end of the IBM PS2 line, so I am quite happy with finally getting a model 95 😁

An accelerator can turn the A1200 into a productivity powerhouse moreso than the A500 thanks to the AGA chipset. It all depends on what you want to do with it, if you want to play games a simple 512K RAM expansion on an A500 will cover you for 99% of the library anyway. I for example use my A500 to browse online BBSes and hope to set up one on my own Amiga some day.

Yup.... That can not be more true. 1 x A500 + 512k + Kick 1.3 + RGBtoHDMI + Gotek = Tons of fun.
The reason is that the A500 was the defacto Amiga gaming machine, before PC got more juice around 1991.
And the 1200 came out around 1992, and did not even come close to top-tear PC's at that time.

You'll want 6 of them when you find out they can give worthwhile 3D performance to a 300Mhz CPU then go on scaling through to 2GHz or so.

Yeah, that almost exact design is used for a few different models. Trying to figure out exactly which one it is is very maddening just by looking at pictures.

Nice find of a Power VR Card. From the picture on this side (https://vintage3d.org/midas3.php) it should be a LT1587CT-3.6

It has a fixed output of 3.6V indicated by the CT-3.6.
